In a remarkable year of growth and innovation, Plainsea has demonstrated impressive momentum in both product development and market presence. Following extensive development and collaboration with security professionals, Plainsea initiated 2024 with the launch of its flagship platform, introducing a solution that fundamentally reimagines and augments how security teams deliver penetration testing services.
The platform’s debut on the global stage came swiftly after, with Plainsea presenting at 3 of the most prestigious cybersecurity industry’s events:
“Participating in these events was crucial for our growth,” notes Angel Angelov, CTO of Plainsea. “It allowed us to engage directly with cybersecurity leaders, validate our technical approach, and establish valuable connections that are now set to drive our expansion efforts.”
In a significant endorsement of its innovative approach, in October Plainsea was featured in the Bulgarian Cybersecurity Ecosystem Report by Bulgarian Expansion Bridge (BEX). The report positioned Plainsea at the forefront of the industry’s shift from service-based models to product-driven solutions, highlighting its pivotal role in shaping the future of information security, risk assessment, and management within the Bulgarian region.
“As the services market becomes increasingly competitive and saturated, many businesses are pivoting to product-driven strategies,” the report states. “Companies like Plainsea are leading this evolution, demonstrating how product-driven strategies can unlock new growth potential.”
The comprehensive analysis also praises Plainsea for its innovative platform, forecasting that it will help the company drive the next wave of industry advancements and revolutionize how businesses approach cybersecurity.
“With its wide array of tools and features, Plainsea is looking to lead the race to become the preferred platform for cybersecurity for both cybersecurity providers and their clients,” the report authors note.
Internally, 2024 also saw Plainsea double its workforce and relocate to а new office.
The relocation represented a strategic decision that went beyond accommodating physical growth – it embodied the company’s core belief that innovation flourishes when teams work together. The new office environment was thus purposefully designed to encourage collaboration, creative problem-solving, and the free flow of ideas among team members.
The results of this approach became evident in the accelerated pace of product development and the strengthened relationships both within teams and with clients.
“Our team is the backbone of everything we do,” says Marko Simeonov, Plainsea’s CEO. “Their expertise and dedication have been instrumental in achieving the milestones we’ve achieved. Each new team member brings unique expertise that strengthens our ability to serve our clients and drive innovation in the cybersecurity space.”
Looking ahead, Plainsea has outlined an ambitious growth strategy centered on technological innovation and market expansion. The company plans to introduce its Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) methodology by mid-2025. By 2026, organizations that prioritize their security investments based on a CTEM program will be 3x less likely to suffer a breach, as per Gartner’s forecasts. For Plainsea’s еnd-customers, this represents an opportunity to achieve proactive, data-driven, continuous security validation even with strained resources.
Additionally, the company is preparing to roll out a virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) service. This new feature will be available as a standalone offering or integrated with Plainsea’s augmented pen-testing services, providing clients with essential strategic guidance and compliance support.
Geographically, Plainsea plans to continue expanding its presence in the US, UK, and EMEA regions, aiming to become a trusted partner for both MSSPs and end-clients in these key markets. To support this growth, the company will continue to invest in its technical and support teams, ensuring that it can innovate at scale while delivering exceptional service.
“2024 has been a testament to the incredible dedication of our team and the trust our partners and clients have placed in us,” says Simeonov. “As we enter 2025, we’re not just growing – we’re creating a new standard for how cybersecurity services are delivered and managed. We hope our platform’s comprehensive toolset, combined with our expansion plans and new service offerings, will enable us to better serve both cybersecurity providers and their clients across global markets.”
Plainsea’s progress reflects the dedication of a talented team and the trust of our growing client base. With an ambitious roadmap for 2025, we’re eager to drive the next wave of cybersecurity innovation.
